4-spoke leather multi-function steering wheel, electric-adjustable
tilt/telescoping steering column, the original
owner's manuals,, and much more. Rousing this
beast into motion is Mercedes' 5.5-liter Supercharged V8, generating 493
horsepower at 6,100 rpm and 516 pound-feet of torque at 2,750 rpm. Managing
this more than substantial power is an excellent AMG five-speed automatic
transmission with AMG speed shift which works seamlessly to deliver timely
shifts when necessary. Combined with ultra-powerful AMG electronic cross
drilled disc
brakes and an AMG tuned Multi-link front and rear suspension, the SL55 AMG
provides a firm yet compliant ride no matter the type of road, whether it be
a serpentine wine-country twisty or a straight-shot, smooth highway. The SL
is also one of the safest cars in its class, thanks to industry-leading
features that include dual front airbags, side airbags mounted in both
doors, seat belts with emergency tension retractors (ETR), dual integrated
roll bars, electronic stability Protection (ESP), and a super strong steel
reinforced cabin with front and rear crumple zones.
Like most of the fabled AMG products, the SL55
offers few visual warnings to
would-be-predators-doomed-to-become-hapless-victims, with the only hints
being massive AMG brake calipers peeking through distinctive 20" wheels and
stainless steel quad exhaust tips. But individuals fluent in German know
exactly what "Kompressor" connotes, namely a barely-caged, supercharged
demon outputting just shy of 500 horsepower. If luxury isn't your sole
concern, you are invited to take advantage of the SL55's "other"
personality, an unexpected blend of high-tech exotic car and old-world
muscle car. Just starting the engine is proof that this isn't a typical
Mercedes. AMG's version of the SL begins with the already impressive
"standard" 5.0-liter V8's aluminum block punched out to 5.5 liters of
displacement. Next, an intercooled supercharger is bolted on top of the
engine and allowed to spin up to 23,000 rpm, thereby increasing airflow
which exits through a reworked AMG exhaust system. With the SL55, it's not
just the acceleration but the effortless acceleration that makes this car so
absurdly fast. The power band starts at idle and never really stops. If you
feel that you're ready to climb in and harness this barely civilized brute,
then DON'T WAIT.... reach for the phone before someone else does!

You want class, with lots of power? Well here ya go....$85,995 (We Take Trades)
